In 1993, Mom had a chance to study Dharma. She later gained a strong belief in Dharma. Mom promised to eat vegan foods for the rest of her life in order to save animal lives. Her kids then followed her footsteps of eating vegan foods at the very young age. Other cousins also studied Dhamma and started to eat vegan foods as well.
Almost 30 years ago, it was not convenient for those in countryside to buy vegan foods. So, most vegan foods are made from textured vegetable proteins, vegetables, and tofu.
Mom then came up with the idea to open a store selling various types of vegan products and ingredients in Korat with the hope to promote vegan foods.
In 1995, Mom opened a restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima Province named “Ming De Restaurant” and its meaning refers to the light of Dharma. (The restaurant has been in operation for almost 30 years.) At the very beginning, Mom travelled to Taiwan to learn and study how to cook various types of vegan foods. (Taiwan was so advanced in cooking vegan foods at the time being.)
At the very beginning, the restaurant lose money because there was very little people eating vegan foods. But, Mom did not give up on her aspiration to promote vegan foods. Now, it has been almost 30 years that Ming De restaurant serves vegan food to lots of people.
From generation to generation, in 2011, her children developed Ming De restaurant’s concept to become an online market selling various types of vegan foods named “Jfoodmarket.” Now, our vegan products are available to people in every part of Thailand and can be delivered to other countries.
Our main intention is to promote vegan foods, to reduce animal slaughter, and to bring health benefits of eating less meat. It would be great if we could make this world a better place.
